The Madness

KFC Yum: Thank you, Karl-Anthony Towns. Limited by previous foul trouble, Towns was the 6-foot-11 freshman devouring Pirates and helping the Wildcats soar to the site’s most lopsided outcome of the day in March Madness from this past week. Hampton had a 0.04% chance of beating Kentucky. The Wildcats will have to wait to lose in dramatic fashion. According to The Win Sports Book in Las Vegas, if you take Kentucky, you have to bet 10 dollars just to win 11 dollars.

Johannes Gutenberg was not a fool when he invented the printing press. In 1452, a man named Gutenberg quietly invented movable type and changed the entire world in exactly the same way the Internet is changing things. The 80s could be called the Me generation. Fast-forward to now and we’re in the Industrial Revolution, and it’s the wife and kids and I don’t care generation.

What do I care about? I want to get my high quality book published because it’s revolutionary and epic. It took a decade to write the “Book of the Century.”

I had a dream. What if an iceberg never sank the Titanic? What if the Titanic went down after an attack by a Nigerian submarine or an African pirate ship? I have put together a proposal for my next book. There’s that, and 80-page outlines for other ideas. “Now, when I myself hear that somebody is dead, I simply shrug and say what the Tralfamadorians say about dead people, which is ‘So it goes.’” And so on. I’m reading Kurt Vonnegut’s 'Slaughterhouse-Five' and poetry from Theodore Roethke and William Wordsorth.

I don’t like the television series Everybody Loves Raymond because it employs character bias. I don’t like the title of the movie Ray because it doesn’t identify the last name of the American singer. I don’t like Rachael Ray because I don’t know how to cook her recipes. I don’t care if you think I’m Ray-cist or not. The truth hurts.

Welcome to Spring. April showers bring May flowers.
